The Effect of Phosphogypsum and Turkey Litter Application on the Properties of Eroded Agrochernozem in the South Ural Region (Russia)

The possibility of using industrial and poultry wastes as an ameliorant/fertilizer for erosion-prone soils was investigated. We studied the impact phosphogypsum (PG) turkey litter (TL) application on physicochemical properties weakly eroded agrochernozem in conditions a 5-year field experiment South Ural region, Russia. In particular, we examined effect treatments soil moisture reserves, structure, microaggregate composition particle size distribution, aggregate stability (water resistance), organic carbon content (Corg), ammonium, nitrate alkaline hydrolysable nitrogen, available phosphorus (Pav), exchange potassium (Kex), potato productivity/ecological quality. Treatments included PG at 5, 10, 20 t ha–1, TL 40 60 ha–1; mixes ratios 1:10, 1:5, 1:2. obtained results indicated that introduction increased (compared to control) reserves (by 10–17%), resistance aggregates water (8–15%), Corg (6–10%), nitrogen (two orders magnitude), Pav (3–6 times) Kex (2–3 times), improved, well, structure. general, years factor had significant water-physical properties; its influence 44–67%, while 21–30%. agrochemical (Corg Pav) were dependent (77 95%, respectively), all forms depended year (34–57%). suggest improve fertility status minimize erodibility without plant contamination.
